Lucy Mecklenburgh got more than just a tan from her recent trip to Cannes; according to reports she caught the eye of a famous Hollywood producer while there and is now in the running to star in a film.
The TOWIE star was in the French Rivera to take part in a photoshoot, however managed to attract the attention of director Will Holman who’s currently casting for his horror film.
He invited Lucy to a formal meeting at a fancy Cannes hotel and now wants to fly her to LA to do an audition on camera. A source close to her revealed:
“She is keeping tight-lipped about it but apparently the director loves her look and thinks she is the perfect female for an important character in his film.
“He’s sending her the script and intends to fly her out to LA for an audition and to get her on tape. He says Lucy has exactly the look of the character that he imagined in his own head.”
She might be remaining tight-lipped about it publicly now but she has dropped a few not-so-subtle hints about the meeting via twitter. Last week she simply said:
“Wow sometimes dreams do come true #HappyGirl.”

In Hollyoaks she played a mostly miserable anorexic teenager with some seriously messed up family issues, fortunately her new role looks far more fun. The former soap star has jetted to Miami to star in a movie, and while there she had the opportunity to go all Baywatch (minus the red bikini) by running through the sea with a wet, glistening and perfectly toned body. Her latest project is called Plastic and stars Lily Allen’s brother Alfie. It’s about two students who run a successful credit card fraud operation from their halls. He’s known for his love of a good party (and also for his love of women, come to think of it), so it’s no surprise that his 26th birthday is gearing up to be a bit of an extravaganza. So, the launch night for this series of Celebrity Big Brother came and went and sadly no Lindsay Lohan made her way into the pad as rumoured. Boo. But did the producers manage to bag a selection of celebrities equally as exciting to make up for it? Sadly not. In fact, we feel slightly disappointed by this year’s selection. Nevertheless, let’s have a run down of who went in shall we? Well, X Factor’s Rylan Clark for a start, Claire from Steps, ex Eastenders star Gillian Taylforth, jockey Frankie Dettori, Spencer & Heidi Pratt plus Ryan Maloney (aka Toadfish from Neighbours). Other slightly less recognisable celebrities in there (if that’s possible) include Neil “Razor” Ruddock (a former footballer), 80’s model Paula Hamilton, former Corrie hunk Sam Robertson, ex Heartbeat actress Tricia Penrose and a Page 3 girl Lacey Banghard (actual name. No seriously it is). No big surprises really, and aside from Rylan – there’s no one we’re really excited about watching. Luckily this year’s cruel twist should provide some well needed entertainment. Six of the incumbent stars have been made to sleep for a week in squalid conditions in the “pigsty” basement, while the remaining batch will live in luxury. Rylan and Frankie (the first ones in) were tasked with who should live where; and they decided to send Paula, Sam, Toadfish, Neil and then Spencer Pratt & Heidi Montag down to the basement. All good decisions as far as we’re concerned (especially Heidi and Spencer). So, what did you think of it all?

You do not want to get on the wrong side of Rita Ora, that’s for sure. The outspoken star lashed out at Geordie Shore’s Holly last night, but to be honest she had good reason to. The red haired reality star had a strange rant about cheating men which culminated in her bashing out a spurious rumour about Rita Ora – namely that she’s slept with her mentor Jay Z. she said: 'I've been told to say that Rita Ora has been ALLEGEDLY ***** Jay Z! I repeat ALLEGEDLY'. It took a while for the singer to respond to this, but when she did she really went for it writing: 'I stayed silent on one b******* rumour but this one I have to speak. 'Never will anyone including a red hed dumb Z list attention seeking ***** try talk *** about me and my family Holly whatever the **** your name is. 'Anyway I only speak when I have to and that was just f****** ridiculous, that’s why I spoke now I need to get back to my movie bots, I love you.' The inquest into Amy Winehouse’s death last year is to be reheard as the coroner overseeing it did not have the correct qualifications it has emerged. At the initial hearing in October 2011 a verdict of “misadventure” was reached, however a month after that the presiding coroner resigned as she was allegedly “underqualified” and was hired for the role by her husband, the head coroner for St Pancras. The inquest into the star’s death will now be heard again in St Pancras next month. At the last hearing a report said Winehouse was five over the legal alcohol limit when she died and had three empty vodka bottles scattered around her room.

Argentinean model Leandro Penna has been taken into custody by the police following a brawl at his London home. The ex boyfriend of Katie Price was arrested at about 5am shortly after guests were asked to leave his home. A spokesperson for the model said: "We can confirm that Leandro Penna was arrested in the early hours of this morning near his central London home. "Leo was detained following an apparent altercation with another male at his London home. "It is our limited understanding that following a gathering at Leandro's home, guests were asked to leave at around 5am, it is then the alleged incident is said to have taken place." Leandro has been loitering around in the UK since his split from Katie Price as he’s apparently signed up to appear in a reality show alongside Tom Daley. While here though he’s been doing tell-all interviews about his ex which have painted her in a less than flattering light. As you can imagine, she didn’t seem too upset by this latest turn of events. Most boy bands are pretty but you have to admit that X Factor’s Union J have that something extra special about them. Turns out its just make-up and pampering though, oh well. The X Factor Style Team kindly shared some snaps of the finalists getting pampered ahead of last week’s show. There’s George Shelley having his hair done and we’re not talking about a £10 blow dry. Then there's Josh having his mascara put on and pouting in the mirror, while Rylan is getting a massage. Despite the fact they have spent most of their married life apart so far, Marvin and Rochelle Humes have clearly found the time to do what’s important. In the continued shake-up of Radio 1 to make it more suited to the yuff of today, it seems just about anyone who’s ever worked on T4 is replacing the old staff. Following Nick Grimshaw’s replacement of Chris Moyles comes the announcement that Vernon Kay and Reggie Yates will be departing the station after nearly a decade hosting their respective shows. Kay’s breakfast show will be taken over by Matt Edmondson (who’ll also be pinching Sara Cox’s show from her on a Sunday morning) while the chart show will now be presented by Jameela Jamil. Jameela’s current Sunday evening Request Show will now be hosted by YouTube stars Dan and Phil. The new changes won’t come into effect until January and we expect both Reggie and Vernon will be making some very emotional goodbyes but we have to say we think the changes are very good ones. But in between shooting, Nicole Kidman has taken the time to chat about her raunchy role in Eyes Wide Shut, alongside her then husband Tom Cruise. The actress, who now has two children with new hubby Keith Urban, admits that the director Stanley Kubrick had to ‘coax’ her ‘into some of the sexuality in the film in the beginning, but says she never felt it was 'exploitive or unintelligent'. She also revealed the famous director tried to base the film about a troubled married couple on her real-life relationship with Tom, which is pretty awkward really but Nicole denies it really was them. Following yesterday’s denial of her break-up from Lewis Hamilton, Nicole Scherzinger has spoken out once again to reassure everybody that her relationship with the F1 driver really is still on. The singer was appearing on Daybreak this morning with her X Factor mentees James Arthur, Rylan Clark and Jahmene Douglas when she was quizzed about Lewis and her relationship with him. Yeah, we’re great’ said Nicole, adding: ‘Everything’s good and I wish that I could be with him this week and for Japan - I'm used to going to those races with him there. 'I do have something else, our first live show on Saturday, but I think after Korea he will come back and stay with me. This new dream-like video of Kylie Minogue was created by British artist Katerina Jebb for an upcoming exhibition. Apparently it’s satirical or something. We couldn’t give two hoots about that, we just care about the fact Kylie flashes her bum in it! Yes since her Spinning Around days we’ve been rather obsessed with the singer’s derriere (along with quite a few other people we suspect) so we thoroughly welcome this opportunity to see said appendage in all its bare naked glory. And what’s more it’s in the name of art so we can actually feel cultured while having a perv, questionably. Jebb has done a series of videos for the exhibition also with the likes of Tilda Swinton and Kristin Scott Thomas. The blurb for the art reads: “in this work Jebb sees the boundaries between actuality and satire confused and disrupted. In creating an imaginary TV channel, the viewer is offered parody endorsements such as Life Eraser , a new life enhancing beauty cream with the face of Tilda Swinton . He may play a tough guy in a number of his films but in real life it seems that Tom Cruise isn’t coping well at all. According to reports Tom is struggling being apart from his daughter Suri. Mr Cruise missed his daughter’s first day at school because he’s been filming in Europe. Suri goes to school in New York, so there ain’t no way he was going to make both. Tom famously got divorced earlier this year after wife and mum to the little princess, Katie Holmes decided she had had enough. A source told People mag: "Tom talks to Suri several times a day, "He misses Suri very much." The insider explained that the father and daughter are "very, very close", adding: "He's up on everything that's going on in her life." Do you think they use Skype? Yea we like the idea of them chatting away on that, she could show him her latest fashion buys and toys and nail varnish and well we’re sure the list is endless.
